Carbuncle is much more than just a simple abscess, boil or furuncle. It occurs when multiple hair follicles gets infected. It is usually deep and forms a lump. Out of all medicines, Anthracinum is one medicine that has given me the best results. It is indicated for carbuncles and malignant ulcers. It is very effective when there is a succession of boils one after the other. I have found Apis Mel very useful in cases where there is stinging pain in carbuncles. Crotalus Horridus is very useful in cases where the carbuncle is surrounded by purplish mottled skin and edema (swelling). Another great medicine for carbuncle treatment is Echinacea. It works well in treating recurrent carbuncles. Euphorbium is indicated in old indolent ulcers with biting and lancinating pains. Lachesis is best suited for carbuncles that are bluish and purplish in surroundings.
What is Carbuncle?
A carbuncle is an infection that occurs in the deep layers of skin and has an involvement of multiple hair follicles, which are infected. The most common bacterial agent that leads to this infection is Staphylococcus Aureus. It may form a lump with collection of pus, fluid and dead tissue in it. It may occur anywhere but is common on nape of the neck and back.
What causes carbuncle?
Exact cause of carbuncle is not known but poor hygiene, friction of clothing and injury while shaving and overall poor health are the contributing factors.
What are the symptoms of Carbuncle?
Carbuncle appears a raised lump initially. There may be redness around it with pain on touching. Gradually it may grow in size( it can range from the size of pea to a golf ball ) and cause significant pain. it may develop a pus point and may start oozing pus and blood . It may even spread to different areas. Fever and fatigue may be present.
Complications of Carbuncle
Sepsis is one of the major complications that can occur due to carbunculosis. In sepsis the infection from the carbuncle enters the blood stream. An immune reaction to the bacteria may lead to endocarditis.
My husband has a very painful carbunkle on his leg,he cannot sleep at night and is in much
distress as our family doctor told him there is nothing that will help.I do not believe there is nothing to

Constance, I am not a homeopath, but you should exercise 1/2 hour per day, soak in a warm bath with Epsom salts every other day and start eating turmeric pills or put it in your food because Dr. Axe says turmeric is 400 times better than metformin. If you have one on your neck, it is in your blood stream, so act now! Use pepper along with turmeric so it gets absorbed by the blood.

I am 41 a chronic sinusitis patient. Now suffering from nasal vestibulitis (infection on the nasal,passage since 2 months . I have taken lots of antibiotics but it comes back the very next day of stopiing. When I take homeo , it becomes black but again light yellow pus forms near to surrounding area. As it is inside the nose where we can see, I can notice the change. Near by skin turns red and wet and with white mucous, but it soon changes to light yellow . I mean infection spreads to that area. After spreading , that part turns dark and it spreads to surrounding area slowly. I feel better in hot dry climate and I am allergic to cold ,wind rain and dust . Expecting ur valuable reply at the earliest as it is a staphylococcus aureus infection which is resistant to lot of antibio (suspected to have m.r.s.a). Pls send me a reply
My daughter is 3 yrs old and she has Eczema which is under control. Currently she is having skin boils and when a culture test was done, results showed presence of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.
Is there any home remedy and also a homeopathic medicine when it occurs or to prevent it from occuring.

I have what could be an angry carbuncle on my forehead. It will sort of heal……. but then
because I believe there is a hair follicle down deep that won’t resolve it’s issue, it doesn’t really heal…
And has been there for several weeks now.
I recently pulled on an inch and a half long very thin hair that when pulled is extremely painful but
doesn’t want to be pulled out. I have tried heat and every home remedy that is suppose to pull out

I Have lump on my head from last 10 years , its not painful , but does not go away , there are three or four of them mainly on forehead . The Lump , Boil Or Cyst was treat several times for brief duration by several doctors , Homeopathic as well as Allopathic ,
Allopathic Doctors Suggested Surgery as the only medium , no medicines no Ointment cream or lotion , personally i am not ready for surgery .
Homeopathic worked sometimes i felt the bump reducing , but the duration killed the whole thing , after 30 – 40 days of treatment either because of unsatisfactory progress or some personal issues this got discontinued .
