Scalp psoriasis is a skin complaint characterized by red inflammed lesions on the scalp covered with silvery white scales. Scalp psoriasis is a fairly common skin complaint. The scalp is rough, dry, and dirty and is covered with thick scaly crusty psoriatic lesions. The scalp is raw, red and inflammed. On scratching the eruptions tend to bleed often. The eruptions are itchy and scalp is sensitive to touch. Soreness and pain follow scratching.
Signs and Symptoms of Scalp Psoriasis
The major sign of psoriasis is red inflammed raised patches on the scalp that is covered with shiny silvery white scales. The scaling may be fine to thick depending upon the severity. The skin lesions of scalp psoriasis also tend to extend to the neck and behind or inside the ears frequently. The scalp also appears very dry. In severe cases of scalp psoriasis thick crusted plaques on the scalp forms. Bleeding on scratching the lesions may attend. Itching, soreness and burning sensation also appear on the scalp. Hair fall is an associated complaint that may arise in a person having scalp psoriasis. The above signs and symptoms vary in intensity from case to case.

Sir, I am 54 years old, having Scalp Psoriasis since Oct-2013. I had started treatment from a famous Dr.Amarjeet (Amar Homeo care) at Usuf Sarai. Symtems excessive itching, sometime bleeding, white colour very small cotton type papdi comes while itching, while rubbing the scalp floor( sikri) like substance use to fall . My scalp got very light red patches. I got around 80% relief by Nov-2014 (but after that slowly and steadily again it has started increasing) Today around 30% of my scalp particularly right side is having problem. i am 26 and i am suffering from scalp psoriasis from pas 3 yr when i shifted to noida. i have tried all home remedies and medications but no help. is there any permanent treatment for this in homeopathy ? i have spent so much money on medicines and doctors but the problem is worsening. i feel burning sensation on my scalp very badly. i can’t bear this. Delivered a baby boy 4 months back. Two weeks back noticed a itchy white patch or extremely dry scalp that falls like dandruff when rubbed. Tried all home remedies coconut oil with lime juice ,neem seed oil etc nothing seems to work. Washing my hair every 2 days that is also not working. I am a mother of 9 years old girl who has a family history of Psoriasis. Since she was 3, she has developed a small patch in her scalp which grew and had a lot of pill up. My husband being a doctor as well thought it to be a fungal infection and so did her pediatrician. However, when it constantly grew and she developed more patches in her head, we took her to a specialist (the Dermatologist) ..she has been since then prescribing her from various shampoos to ointments and also vitamin D supplements. Some times those medications have working and diminished the symptoms, but this problem has grown and now she has her whole scalp full of dandruff … itchy and sometimes it bleeds when she itchies it. If you are have a practice near South Carolina or North Carolina area, please let me know I would like to bring my daughter for a visit. Its now weighing her personality down and due to scratching she has pills of dandruff on her shoulders all the time.
