Hello Dr. My daughter’s periods started a year ago when she was 11. Her periods are very heavy lasts for at least 10 days. My daughter, 28 years old, single is suffering from Aplastic Anemia. Her haemoglobin and platelet levels are quite low around 5, and 20,000 respectively. I am a 44 year old woman living in Mumbai.
Usually my periods last for maximum 5 days, not more than that. I bleed heavily on the 2nd day only, sometimes 1st day too. But the bleeding becomes light 3rd day onwards. Finally it stops on day 5 or 6.
