Benign esophageal stricture refers to narrowing of the esophagus/food pipe (a tube through which the food passes from the throat down into the stomach). Benign esophageal stricture mainly arises from damage to the esophageal lining from stomach acid or any other irritant. It results in inflammation in the oesophagus followed by scar tissue formation, leading to narrowing of the pipe. Biopsy after endoscopy revealed cancer of esophagus which was treated with RT and Chemo followed by robotic surgery .Post surgery biopsy showed that now malignancy had been completely removed ,but after acouple of months this esophagal stricture developed which was reduced by endoscopic balloon treatment but doctor says such treatment is generally repeated periodically 3/4 times to set it right permanently .Is there any homeopathic medicine which can arrest shrinking of diameter of esophagus for ever ?

Dr. Sharma, your article is helpful, what I have are Esophageal Spasms, closing of Esophagus Sphincter due to scar tissue that my body produces. My Gastrologist, Dr. Andrew Heiner in Draper, UT has done 17 scopes from 2014 up to March 2023, to stretch back open the sphincter. But it does not help the constant pain from esophagus, and from sphincter into stomach and just above my belly button. I all to often am doubled over in pain. Dr. Heiner has no idea what to do or who to send me to. I dread having to drink or eat, since it only makes the pain worse.

My mother is unable to swallow even her own saliva she has history of Ca of cricopharynx but now there is no cancer still she can’t swallow . Hi im nandhini. My mother have a history of swallowed acid 30 years back and underwent surgeries in esophagus. Now she is 50 years old. Currently she is experiencing recurrent oesophagus stricture. So she is treated by endoscopy and dilation
But the stricture got worse. The doctor can’t able to do dilatation for the current condition. So they suggest for coloplast surgery. But it’s very risky for her age and body condition. Sir, I have many of the symptoms; so difficult to pick a specific remedy. I only experience the spasms when eating, usually if the food has a rough texture. My esophagus has a feeling of rawness or soreness that the food triggers in to a tight constriction around the food. This is only relieved when I completely regurgitate the stuck food.
