My son is 3.5 mth old, born 6 weeks early, has severe reflux since 8 weeks of age. He drinks 2 oz only every 3 hrs of a special dairy free formula. After feeding, he is uncomfortable, constantly swallows and licks, and has lot of saliva. We can hear fluid coming up in his mouth, but he spits up only a little bit occasionally. Has never had projectile vomiting. He does sound congested and as if something is in his throat.
He is a poor sleeper, sleeps 30 min naps in the day and wakes up due to fluid coming up in his throat.
He likes to be held and walked around esp. after feeds.
He sleeps poorly on his own at night and most of the time we hold him at night n sleep.
He passes stool infrequently once a day or every other day but usually soft.
He was on Prevacid which I stopped 5 days ago.
He is on Nat phos 6x with feeds and nux vomica twice a day for 4 days with some improvement.
Should I stick with the treatment for few more days or consider changing it?

I have reflux, but it does not burn and is not acid or sour tasting. Really the only symptom I have is that I can feel the food back up in my esophagus after I eat and for many hours afterward. Sir I have long standing sluggish bowels due to tension ;use of purgatives for constipation arising after a very bad hepatitis.
