Some women tend to feel pain in the ovary during ovulation (known as Mittelschmerz pain.) The pain can be one-sided or be present on both sides. It also may be attended with vaginal discharge, bleeding, and nausea.
3. PID(Pelvic Inflammatory Disease) – It is an infection that has spread to the uterus, ovaries or fallopian tubes. It mainly arises from sexually transmitted bacteria that have ascended the genital tract from the vagina and cervix. Apart from pain, PID may have other symptoms that include, an abnormal vaginal discharge, irregular bleeding, nausea, vomiting, painful intercourse, burning with urination, fever, and chills.
4. Ovarian cysts– They are fluid-filled sacs or pockets that form on the surface of an ovary. Most cysts don’t show any symptoms. When symptoms arise they include pelvic pain, bloating / fullness in the abdomen, frequent urination, and changes in the menstrual cycle. Ovarian cysts carry a risk of rupturing in which sudden and severe abdominal pain is felt along with fever and vomiting. It may also lead to shock.
