Ankle pain not only hampers movement, but the niggling pain also affects a person’s general frame of mind. Ankle is a joint between the leg and foot. The bones that participate in forming the ankle joint are tibia and fibula (both are bones of leg), plus talus bone (bone of foot). Ankle pain can result from a variety of reasons like injuries, sprains and arthritis (inflammation of joints).
Homeopathy provides a very effective treatment to get rid of ankle pain. The ankle pain resulting from various causes can be very effectively treated with natural homeopathic remedies. These can treat ankle pain both of recent origin or chronic ones of long duration. Along with pain, the attending symptoms like stiffness, heat, tenderness and swelling in ankles also go away with the use of homeopathy. Conventional medicine mainly recommends pain killers, anti-inflammatory medicines or corticosteroids to help cases of ankle pain but with long-term use, some side effects may show up. On the other hand, homeopathic medicines are completely safe to use with no side effects.
Homeopathy gives long-term results rather than temporary pain relief as it focuses to treat the root cause behind ankle pain. It works wonderfully to treat causes like sprains, arthritis, and tendinitis etc. present in a given case. As a result, the ankle pain after getting relieved gets cured from its root with a proper course of homeopathic treatment under guidance of a homeopathic doctor.
The selection of the ideal homeopathic remedy for every case of ankle pain is done individually for each patient. Many factors are taken into account before finalising prescription like type of pain, any radiation of pain, worsening and relieving factors of pain, any associated complaints like swelling, stiffness, tenderness and the cause behind it. With properly selected medicine, great results are achieved in cases of ankle pain.
Due to the use of natural remedies in homeopathy, there are no chances of any side effects in any case of ankle pain. These medicines are used in highly diluted forms that aid natural healing without any adverse effects.

Causes of ankle sprain
Ankle pain may be due to various causes. Firstly, it can arise from injuries, sprains and strain. Sprain is the main injury in ankles and it refers to tearing or overstretching of the ligaments around the ankle. The sprain of the ankle occurs due to sudden twisting of the ankle due to a misstep or a fall. Other ankle injuries can occur due to a blow with blunt objects and also overstretching or overstraining of muscles in the ankle. The main symptom as a result is pain in the ankle with swelling. The second cause can be arthritis like gout, rheumatoid arthritis.
Gout refers to an inflammatory and painful joint disease due to increased uric acid levels in the blood. Any joint can be affected by gout, including the ankle joint.
Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune joint disease that results in pain, swelling, stiffness of joints, followed by deformity of joints in the long run. The ankle joint is also affected by rheumatoid arthritis. Another reason can be tendinitis which refers to inflammation of tendons (a cord that connects muscle to the bone). The tendons that join the leg muscle with the bones of the foot pass behind the ankle. The main tendon is Achilles Tendon or Tendo Achilles in other words. Any inflammation of these tendons may cause pain in the ankles. Another cause could be tarsal tunnel syndrome, which results from damage to the tibial nerve present in the ankle.
